The memorial stone is up and all is well... but the work goes on:
According to the maker of the stone it has to be moved so that it will not suffer from the snow and the harsh weather during the winter in sweden. It only has to be moved some meters so it will still be about on the same location. This operation will be somewhat costy and in addition we also would be able to cover the last of the payment for the stone. Any of you guys who want to support CIOM and the memorial stone, here is your chance!!!

The footage of Björn Aulander that was announced earlier (now removed) actually was the same footage as the first source. This footage will be edited and released shortly. It has the introductary speech as well as some other goodies. Watch this space for this clip soon. I will add subtitles in English (might have something to do with the time it will take to get it online ;-), so do not worry.

I got a request from Samantha McNally at Metclub today to send in some material regarding the Cliff burton memorial stone.
Clubberz!!! keep your eyes open when reading the next issue of So What! (Metallica Fan Club magazine) for at least a picture of the memorial stone!

In Connection with the 20th anniversary of Cliff's death (i.e. 27th September), on Saturday 30th September, the memorialstone was placed close to the site of the accident.

After the stone had been uncovered a rememberence concert was held at the nearby restaurant/pub, Gyllene Rasten, where these bands performed:
Age of fury, The haze, Killersqueze and Morbid insultor.

EDIT: For CIOM history reference the announcement of the stone has done its comeback!
The Cliff Memorial Stone Design Has been finalized and has been sent to the monumental mason for production. Here is the design:

Greater detail will, however, be put into the picture of Cliff once the stone is finished.
In Connection with the 20th anniversary of Cliff's death (i.e. 27th September), on Saturday 30th September, the stone will be placed close to the site of the accident and uncovered at 17:00 CET.
After the stone as been uncovered a rememberence concert will be held at the nearby restaurant/pub, Gyllene Rasten, where these bands will be performing:
The Haze, Age of Fury, Morbid Insulter, Keld and supposedly Jaggernaut. The bands will be playing until 01:00 CET and the entrance fee will be 50 Swedish Krona or 150 Swedish Krona (including some food and a beverage). 18 years of age minimum.
